Darkside is a Fortaleza, Ceará based Heavy Metal band created in 1991. Formed in a region without tradition in Metal, this power quintet became one the pioneers and most influential bands of the brazillian northeast area. The sound is strong and melodious; the lyrics are acid and dramatic. The attitude is strong, never bending to the preferences of the mainstream.
The opening line up comprising vocalist Aurelio, guitarists Tales Groo and Boi, bassist Rodrigo and drummer Beah. This unit crafted the 1991 demo Fragments Of Time. The band switched rhythm section for the follow up 1993 session Gates To Madness, drafting bassist Pluto and drummer Dudu. Darkside evolved further in 1996 with the recruitment of bass player Alexandre Hawly and drummer H.J. for the release of the 1996 demo Blessed by the Dark.
1997 had the band down to just Aurelio and Groo as founders, this pair being bolstered by second guitarist Fabricio..Ramiroand drummer Paulo Andre. However, one year later Romulo took over lead vocals as the band switched title to Heritage. With the return of Aurelio in 2000 they would revert back to Darkside.
2001 found the group undergoing its most drastic change of personnel to date, with only Groo surviving. New blood would be injected for recording of the Eclipsed Soul demo by singer Daniel Monge, drummer Rodrigo Magnani, guitarist Joe Wilson and bassist Dudu Magnani (who was replaced by Bruno Tosco; in 2004).
2004 marks the official release of the Promo CD Eclipsed Soul, with the songs: Mindstorm, Shades of Decay, Fragments of Time, Eclipsed Soul, Hate Bellow the Skies, Spiral Zone and Belial. The Cd comes with a multimedia track, the Spiral Zone video, done with resources of 3D animation and images of the show of Macapá, from the tour in the Amazonic states of Brazil. The reviews in specialized publications were extremely positive, in a recognition to the work of the band.
In 2007 they enter in a deep reformulation process, but the band doesn't stop. They play in shows with renowned bands as Sepultura, Angra, Krisiun and with the germans of Helloween and Gamma Ray. With the end of the reformulation in 2009, Darkside re-establish with:

Darkside acts under the influence of bands as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Saxon, Anthrax, Death Angel, Exodus and Destruction. The resulting sound is an amalgam between the aggressiveness of Thrash and Heavy Metal's melodic lines, forming a powerful resonant barrier amplified by the explosion of energy that the band expels on stage. Songs like Fragments of Time, Spiral Zone, Shades of Decay, Mindstorm, Blessed by the Dark and Gates to Madness became the soundtrack of several generations of the underground of its native state.
While they are focused of the production of the next album, provisorily baptised as Prayers in Doomsday, Darkside tries to strengthen their bows with producers and labels of Europe and North America, in the intention of they have its material distributed in other continents
